Research Paper - Evaluating a President

Your assignment for the weekend is to write a research paper. The exact prompt is:

Evaluate the presidency of one of the following men:

John F. Kennedy

Lyndon B. Johnson

Richard M. Nixon

You must write in 12 pt Times New Roman font. 1.5 space between lines. No messing with margins. 3-7 pages long. Make sure you create a title page (and be creative for Pete's sake)

You must use 3 outside resources (not Pageant or AMSCO) of which only one may be an encyclopedia. Yes, that means you must read books (or parts of them). Use paranthetical references or foot/end notes and include a bibliography at the end. The more resources you use, the better off you will be in making a judgement. Remember, this is a chance to choose a topic that you are interested in and then actually write a history about it. After all, isn't that why we are here?

If a book we used but could not check out of the library is called "The Presidents: A Reference History", does that count as an encylopedia?

Does it matter what kind of book we use as long as it does talk about the president. Because I found a bunch of good books today and one was a KIDS book today and i was wondering if i can use that along with the other books.

Anonymous,

Absolutely.

When you say kids book, do you mean like the 10 page kind with cartoon bears and too much joy or a kids book in the sense that it teaches the basics about a president? I would steer clear of the children's setion just to be safe.

J do we need a bibliography for this assignment? If so I have no idea how to write a bibliography. And I'll be brave and not post this as anonymous.

As lame as this is going to sound I have a pretty good idea of what I want to write for my paper, I've read the books (some what) and taken notes and done the research. But my problem right now is that I can't figure out how to start the paper. This thesis paragraph is seriously owning right now because I can't figure out how to start it.
